I had never designed anything in my life. I knew nothing about copywriting, editing, or publishing. What I did have was a fierce desire to bring this project into the world — and, thanks to the pandemic, time to figure it out. I taught myself InDesign. I found an incredible artist for the illustrations. An old friend who had worked in publishing helped me edit. An art teacher friend guided the typography. A friend who ran her own design company helped with layout. Once I committed, the universe opened up and sent me exactly who I needed. It always does.
